It is a famous city for its sandy beaches, shopping centers, casinos, gambling and its incredible view of the Atlantic ocean. The city has even been the inspiration for the Monopoly board game. So if your kids love monopoly then Atlantic city is the best place to visit with your kids. If not, then the city still boasts of other sights and spots that your kids will surely have a spectacular time. In fact I have compiled 4 spectacular places to visit in Atlantic City.
1.The Absecon Lighthouse. This famous lighthouse is the tallest in New Jersey and one of the oldest in the country. It is located at the Pacific and Rhode Island Avenue. Which is walking distance from the Showboat Casino. The Absecon Lighthouse can take you and your kids back into time as you ascend its 228 steps. And when you reach the top be prepared to be amazed by the breathtaking view of the Atlantic City skyline and be face-to-face with the original Fresnel Lens that was first lit in 1857. The lighthouse also has a charming gift shop for souvenirs, educational museum and expansive grounds.
2.Atlantic City Historical Museum. Another one of Atlantic city’s famous sights is the Atlantic City Historical Museum. It is a place committed to preserving history as well as offering relaxation as it is a one-of-a-kind seaside resort. The museum is open daily from 10 am to 4 pm and admission is free. While you are at the museum also take time to pass by the Atlantic City Art Center as it features three galleries that exhibit paintings, sculpture and photography.
3. Wheaton Arts and Cultural Center. Another place for the arts is the Wheaton Arts and Cultural Center. It is a world class glass art studio that houses the Museum of American Glass, Craft Studio, and the Down Jersey Folklife Center. It also sponsors a variety of special events, exhibitions and educational programs that your kids will surely enjoy.
4.Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Museum. In Atlantic City your kids will never get bored watching museums. And the Ripley museum is just one proof of that. The museum boasts of odd exhibits that were gathered by Robert Ripley from his world travels. Aside from that there are also films and an interactive fun house.
